BizBash.com to host new trade show in NY for events industry

NEW YORK: BizBash, the one-year-old website set up by former

Primedia corporate PR VP David Adler, is bringing the events industry

together by organizing a new trade show.

BizBash will host Event Expo 2001 at New York's Jacob Javits Center, and

has 125 exhibitors from all kinds of event backgrounds, from decor and

invitation designers to florists.

Adler, CEO and editorial director of the site, said the event would

attract the numerous PR people who are responsible for planning parties

and corporate meetings. "There are more than 100,000 events every year

in New York, and only 30% are planned by event professionals," he said.

"We want to get the creatives together with the logistics people."

Running alongside the main exhibition is a panel discussion hosted by

agency chief Susan Magrino, as well as the New York Post's gossip

columnist Richard Johnson and celebrity photographer Patrick McMullan.

The title of the session is "media secrets for getting your event

covered."

While some might imagine this trade show to be goodie-bag heaven,

organizers have asked participants to instead donate articles for an

attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's

largest goodie bag.
