Citigate wins $1.5m Sybase PR account

SAN FRANCISCO: Sybase has selected Citigate Cunningham as its

agency of record, following a review for the $1.5 million

business.



Rick Myllenbeck, Sybase's senior director of corporate communications,

said, "The agency came in having a great understanding of our position

in the market and our key businesses."



Citigate competed with Alexander Ogilvy and Hill & Knowlton in the final

pitch, with Phase II Strategies also putting in a strong bid, according

to Myllenbeck.



Sybase retained The Weber Group until July, when the company decided to

make a change.



"Our chairman and senior leadership believe PR is a key catalyst to help

Sybase move to a new level," Myllenbeck said. "We had to make sure we

made the right decision."
