DLC selects new press secretary

WASHINGTON: The Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) has hired a new

press secretary: Karin Kullman.

Kullman most recently served on the comms staff of the Senate Budget

Committee. Prior to that, she was chief of staff for the White House

Domestic Policy Council, which she left alongside Bill Clinton's

administration.

The DLC, which has no formal ties to the Democratic party, is a public

policy group which promotes centrist Democrats, often called New

Democrats.

Early members include Clinton, Al Gore, and Joe Lieberman.
