CHICAGO: The MWW Group has won the media relations assignment for
an Illinois statewide consumer telephone-service education campaign. An
organization started by the state plans to spend $3 million on
campaign advertising and PR. Exactly how much will be spent on PR hasn't
been determined, but MWW is committing five staffers to the
John Digles, MWW's group director in Chicago, will serve as the official
spokesperson for the Illinois Telephone Consumer Education Fund, the
group sponsoring the campaign.
MWW has set up a website for the campaign, created a toll-free number
consumers can call for information, and begun a media outreach
The fund's purpose is to inform consumers of their phone service options
in the deregulated environment, said Digles.
