INTERNATIONAL NEWS: Microsoft tops Carma's most-reported

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: According to media analysis company Carma

International, Microsoft is the most-reported company in the world, and

Sony is the most-reported Asian company. (The Japanese consumer

electronics giant was the tenth most-reported overall.)

The findings were released by the company to coincide with the launch of

its new global media analysis service that tracks media coverage of more

than 700 companies in 25 countries.

The highest-placed European company, in sixth place, is the UK's British

Telecom.

With Sony well ahead of other Asian companies, the next most-reported

Asia-Pacific companies are Australian, Korean, and Japanese.

Toyota receives healthy global coverage, followed by Australia's BHP,

News Corporation, Japan's Mitsubishi Motors, and Korean electronics

giant Samsung.

The company that receives most press attention within the Asia-Pacific

region is Australian telecom giant Telstra.

Despite these results, Carma has highlighted a difference between the

most-reported and the most-positive media coverage.

Of companies receiving more than 100 articles per month, BMW is the

most-favorably reported company in the world.
