CAREERS: My Big Break

"The beach, bikinis and Baywatch changed the direction of my life

forever. In the early 90s, I was working as a casting coordinator for

the TV series Baywatch. The experience was great, but the actual job

lacked creativity. Finding beautiful women and men in sunny LA wasn't

very difficult. The boredom with the job forced me to reevaluate where I

wanted to be professionally.

Shortly after Baywatch went on hiatus for the season, I saw an ad for

the Peace Corps focusing on business programs in Eastern Europe. That

was the answer! I could combine my business knowledge with my passion

for travel. My only concern was that I wouldn't be able to use my PR and

marketing background.

As luck would have it, I was assigned to the Lithuanian Information

Institute, where I was responsible for marketing the country. I

consulted with Lithuanian and other European-owned businesses and

traveled throughout the Baltic countries giving lectures on PR. The

international experience was invaluable and helped me obtain my current

position.

Ten years ago, I never imagined I would end up at one of the top PR

firms in the country. Thanks Baywatch!"
