LAST CALL: Not all headlines can be this good

PRWeek and PRNewswire are still squabbling over who is at fault for

a ProfNet headline that, frankly, had us laughing so hard we nearly

spilled our beers.

The headline "How Beers can reach Middle-Easterners" referred, of

course, to this week's The Big Pitch (see p. 10) asking how Charlotte

Beers, US under-secretary of state for public affairs and public

diplomacy, could use PR to reach folks more inclined to get their

updates from Al-Jazeera than CNN. But the headline makes it look like

PRWeek is setting up a charity drive to send a few cold ones to poor

Afghans. (Muslims, as we all should know, eschew liquor of any

kind.)

Watch out next week, when PRWeek will lobby for the inclusion of pork

rinds in the food relief packets. D'oh!
