Fox Broadcasting nabs McNair to be New York PR head

NEW YORK: Fox Broadcasting has hired Sonya McNair as VP of

publicity, corporate communications, based in New York.

McNair will report to Joe Earley, LA-based SVP of publicity and

corporate relations.

Fox Broadcasting has communications VPs on both coasts. The East Coast

position, however, comes with the additional responsibility of handling

entertainment publicity as well as corporate communications. On the West

Coast, entertainment publicity is a separate position, which Fox is

currently seeking to fill.

Before joining Fox, McNair served as VP of communications for Channel

One Media, the news network for teenagers, where she also handled

corporate communications for parent company Primedia's digital video

division. She has also served as the director of media relations for

ABC, where she acted as the spokeswoman for news shows including Good

Morning America and 20/20.

Launched in 1987, Fox Broadcasting is the television network arm of News

Corp.
