LSY named Ohio State University Health Systems' first sole PR firm

COLUMBUS, OH: Lord, Sullivan & Yoder (LSY) has won a $750,000, three-year assignment to handle PR for the Ohio State

University Health Systems.

The contract marks the first time the systems have taken on one agency

to handle PR work. For the past five years, LSY had handled PR for the

Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital, one component of the systems.

Other parts of the systems include the OSU Medical Center, the OSU

Hospital East, and the OSU Health Network.

In addition to the PR work, LSYdigital, LSY's interactive arm, also won

a $1 million, four-year assignment from the systems to handle

their web work.

LSY beat out Gerbig, Snell/ Weisheimer, a local ad agency with PR

capabilities that had handled advertising for the systems in the past,

to win the $250,000 annual PR assignment for the next three

years.

LSY will put four or five people on the account, handling media

relations, employee communications, special events, event planning, and

cause marketing, said Neil Mortine, president and CEO of LSY's PR

unit.

"This is our biggest win this year," said Mortine. "It will be among our

top five accounts."

LSY has annual PR income of about $4.1 million.

"LSY brought extraordinary experience in the community, and was able to

understand and bring valuable counsel to our promotional services," said

Pegge Ledingham, OSU Health Systems' administrator of marketing and

communications.

Mortine said past LSY work with the cancer hospital helped in winning

the new contract.
