New acquisition by The WPP Group

WASHINGTON: Penn Schoen and Berland, former President Clinton's

favorite polling and political consulting firm, has been bought by The

WPP Group. Clinton first used the shop to win reelection in 1996, and

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and NYC Mayor-elect Michael Bloomberg made

use of the firm in their successful campaigns. The $31 million

firm will operate as a standalone entity within WPP.
