LAST CALL: Mr. Bunny Rabbit drops from hero to zero in Denver

Here's a PR challenge for all you Nick at Nite fans out there: get

today's audience to stop watching war news for long enough to pay

attention to the heroes who once caused fans to come running, jumping,

and rappelling up sheer cliffs with tools from their trusty utility

belts.

A recent event scheduled in Denver was to feature Captain Kangaroo, Lois

Lane, and Adam West as Batman. Alas, the event was canceled due to poor

ticket sales.

Organizers blamed the bust on the recession and stressed-out Americans,

saying in a statement: "Apparently, the economy and the tensions in our

country are making folks a little more hesitant to sign up for this

celebration of childhood heroes."

If Captain Kangaroo's Bob Keeshan can't draw a crowd, what does that

mean for his old sidekicks Mr. Bunny Rabbit and Mr. Green Jeans? Now

there's a PR test for some hot young pro to take on! That is, if those

young whippersnappers even know who Mr. Green Jeans is.
