WHERE I WORK: Chip Stevenson, Account director, 823 Productions

How long have you been in your job? Four years, 34 weeks, two days,

and three hours as of right now.

Describe the space you work in: If I look out my office window, I can

see some sun peering through some taller buildings, that is if I'm not

being nosy and looking into the offices across the street. If I look out

the door, I see boxes of Mattel's What's Her Face dolls and Uno games

surrounding my colleagues.

Do you socialize with your colleagues? With Tanqueray, Johnnie Walker,

and Grand Marnier as clients, we can't help but socialize ... even if

it's hitting the stash in the storage closet.

How often do you see the boss? Every day. We used to sit two feet from

each other in our last space in Soho. I think we're still

recovering.

Who is the smartest person you work with? Me, what do you expect me to

say?

How comfortable are your offices? Comfortable and playful. I've even got

my own Chip doll specially made for me by Mattel. It sits in my Rock 'em

Sock 'em boxing ring with a Wizard of Oz Dorothy doll. Don't ask.

How often are you still there when the cleaners come round? I try to be

here when others aren't, so I'm an early-morning person.

What is the worst thing about working there? The crowds of commuters

that I face every day as I approach the garment district are the bane of

my existence. My pleasant walk up Eighth Avenue turns on a dime as I

approach Penn Station.

What's been your biggest mistake while working there? Hitting the reply

option on an e-mail instead of forward.

What is the biggest thing to hit your office in the past year? This has

been an amazing year. We started it out working with the cast of

Survivor to launch Mattel's game. We worked with Estee Lauder this past

summer, and are now in the process of celebrating Uno's 30th Anniversary

with Jamie Lynn Sigler. Also in the mix were lots of magazine events and

promotions with Tanqueray.

Sneak us a good piece of gossip from your office: Cookies seem to

mysteriously disappear from the pantry as soon as they are opened. All

clues point to one suspect.
