LAST CALL: Luck runs out on culpable Yothers

Those who insist PR people and lawyers don't get along should check

out the story of Beverly Hills-based Luck Media. The agency has sued

client Tina Yothers.

The precociously plump younger sister from 1980's sitcom Family Ties

allegedly hired Luck to raise her profile, but then failed to pay the

tab.

According to E! Online, the child star's nonpayment led Luck president

Steve Levesque to take the fading icon to small claims court, where he

tried to regain $5,000 of the $7,500 he says his company

was owed. Yothers failed to show up, and an arrest warrant was issued,

but quickly rescinded when a private detective hired by Luck managed to

serve papers on the naughty notable at a concert in which her band,

Jaded, was performing.

As publicist Warren Cowan recently told us, it is the PR pro's job to

make the news. On that note, congratulations to Luck Media for their

innovative "we'll sue you" strategy. It clearly works!
