Desperate to be in the know, we called Harrison & Shriftman, whose eponymous partners have joined freelance journalist Karen Robinovitz to produce Fete Accompli!: The Ultimate Guide to Creative Entertaining, a book that promises to reveal trade secrets that go into throwing "fierce

parties, and also those that fit the more traditional "fun

or "fabulous

categories.

Unfortunately, it seems that we - like the many socialites who no doubt postponed the advanced planning of their holiday galas - won't be able to find out more until May 16, when the authors break their silence on the project, which has a publication date of fall 2003.

The embargo on ex-George editor Rich Blow's JFK, Jr. bio, we understand.

But based on the release - which hints that the insights contained in the book will include admonishments about stocking your bathroom with "T.P.

before the guests arrive - we couldn't see why the self-described "uber-publicists

(yes, that's in the release, too) are being so hush-hush.
