LOS ANGELES: David Karpe has left his spot as head of communications for the Directors Guild of America (DGA) after one month on the job.

"After four weeks, I found that the job just wasn't the right fit for me,

Karpe told Daily Variety.

Prior to joining the DGA, the premiere labor organization for Hollywood's top directors, Karpe was senior director of corporate communications for Fortune 500 company Fluor, an international developer of power plants and engineering projects. He has also held senior communications positions with Sanwa Bank California and IR specialist Pondel Parsons & Wilkinson.

While a DGA representative said the organization currently has no one handling media, Karpe is expected to be replaced in the near future.
