NEW YORK: The Committee of 200, a group comprised of preeminent women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders (Ogilvy & Mather CEO Shelly Lazarus is a board member), has announced plans for a major media relations push.The senior-level organization is bringing in Connors Communications to help raise awareness about its myriad projects.
Throughout 2002, the Committee of 200 will release a range of research papers detailing how women fare in the business world.
In April, the organization held a historic meeting in Moscow. The US-Russia Women Business Leaders' Summit featured women from the two countries discussing their experiences. Connors helped publicize the event, and weeks later picked up the account, which is expected to run for the next year.
The Committee has 450 members across the nation, and is working on a range of projects to support its 20th anniversary celebration.
The Committee is currently planning a to release a paper detailing how poorly female-run businesses fare in raising venture capital.
"The Committee will also be looking at how young high school girls make their career choices and what influences them,
said Connors Communications VP Kate Berg.
