ATLANTA: Former Coca-Cola Company spokesperson Rob Baskin has joined MS&L-Atlanta as SVP, director of client services.

The move marks Baskin's return to the agency business. He served as GM of Cohn & Wolfe in the late 1980s. For 11 years, Baskin was known as the ultimate gatekeeper at Coke, holding the media at bay and acting as guardian of company messages. His tenure spanned the Atlanta Olympic Games in '96, the Belgian product recall, French regulatory struggles, a discrimination lawsuit, and CEO turnovers.

Baskin resigned from Coke as AVP and director of marketing communications in December 2001.
