NEW YORK: PwC Consulting, the business-consulting subsidiary of the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, soon to be renamed Monday, has named Steven DeSutter VP of corporate communications just a few weeks ahead of its scheduled IPO. The firm also announced the appointment of Bennett Machtiger as SVP and chief marketing officer. DeSutter and Machtiger will report directly to PwC CEO Greg Brenneman.

Prior to this appointment, DeSutter worked as SVP of TurnWorks, the private equity firm owned by Brenneman. Machtiger comes from ad agency Young & Rubicam, where he was a managing partner.

A PwC source said DeSutter would not be able to discuss communications plans before the IPO. Brenneman said, "They are joining the team as we seek to create world-class marketing and communication functions for Monday."
