MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: PlaceWare, which provides hosted-meeting and web-conferencing services over the internet, has decided to review its current PR agency relationship.
The company, which recently issued an RFP, currently retains Neale May & Partners. The agency is also participating in the review.
Michael Sweeny, director of corporate communications, is heading up the review process. PlaceWare decided against hiring a consultant to help with the agency search. Sweeny said the company is not accepting any more proposals, but also indicated that the final decision has yet to be made.
Sweeny joined the company in March after four years with The Weber Group, where he was SVP.
PlaceWare has had a number of other senior management changes this year.
George Garrick was brought in as president and CEO in May, replacing Barry James Folsom, who continues with the company as executive chairman.
In another change, Dustin Grosse was appointed VP of worldwide marketing and business development last May. His remit includes developing all levels of the company's strategic marketing efforts, including corporate communications, marketing communications, and product marketing.
PlaceWare is a privately held company.
