CAREERS: Where I Work - Danielle Muscolino - Senior accountexecutive, Syntax Communication

How long have you been working there? Three years.

How long have you been working there? Three years.

Describe the space you work in It's a 200-year-old house where they say George Washington stopped to feed his horses or take a nap.

I share my office, the former dining room, with my colleague, Patti.

Our office is known throughout the company as "the apartment. We have a couch, TV/VCR, stereo, and a stocked fridge.

If you need to unwind, our office is the place to go.

Do you socialize with your colleagues? When aren't we socializing? Whether it's Friday night happy hour, or long sangria lunches to celebrate, the fun never ends around here. We even have our very own band that performs on Tuesday nights in the office.

Who is the craziest person you work with? Those who know her (including some clients) know my "roomie as the crazy Syntaxian. Singing around the office, making people laugh, that's Patti for you.

What is the best thing about working there? The freedom and family atmosphere.

We take pride in working hard and playing hard.

And the worst thing? My commute - I live nearly 50 miles from the office.

What's been your biggest mistake while working there? Besides working on corporate PR, we provide year-round service for school districts. One of our jobs is to create the school calendar. One year, I made a major goof of closing the district for a whole week. Needless to say, the kids loved the mistake. I just wish the superintendent thought it was funny.

And your luckiest break? Volunteering to work with my supervisor on corporate accounts (which was extra work at the time), and getting a subsequent promotion for "stepping up."

What is the biggest thing to hit your office in the past year? Literally speaking, our office was hit by a car this past spring when it lost control and ended up on our front lawn. But seriously, we landed a bunch of international work, and opened offices in London and the Middle East.

Sneak us a good piece of gossip from your office Well, our CEO's sister recently quit, and applied for a job with a competitor. Needless to say, when the CEO found out, it wasn't pretty.
