NEW YORK: Medialink has launched a Hispanic radio service that guarantees 20 million listeners for audio news releases (ANRs) produced by the company.

"We noted an increasing number of clients were interested in targeting the Hispanic market, explained Lidj Lewis, VP of media relations for Medialink, "so we wanted to create a platform that would secure that."

Yet to be given an official name, the new service digitally delivers clients' 60-second ANRs to more than 50 radio stations within the top 25 Hispanic markets, of which Los Angeles, New York and Miami make up the top three. The guaranteed placement package costs $6,100 - more than double Medialink's standard ANR offerings.

Medialink's research showed that 20% to 30% more Hispanics listen to the radio than any other ethnic group.

A need for the new premium service came out of the fact that "the number of Spanish radio stations has tripled in the past decade alone, said Susan Macaluso, associate vice president of corporate communications for Medialink. "The Hispanic community is clearly the fastest-growing audience out there."

Medialink previously offered ANR services targeted at Hispanic audiences, but did not guarantee placements.
