How long have you been working there? Almost two years.

How long have you been working there? Almost two years.

How did you end up in your job? After having worked in a variety of industries (i.e. education, entertainment, government, and healthcare), I was informed by my kids that I was a dinosaur since I had not worked in hi-tech. I thought, "I'll show them!"

Describe the physical space you work in I have the first office on Exec.

Row, and I'm surrounded by toys: Slinkies, Silly Putty, a singing hamster, a mini Taj Mahal, and Detroit Red Wings memorabilia.

Do you socialize with your colleagues outside of work? Sure. After working hours, we "unbend in creative ways and places.

Who is the smartest person you work with? Why? Sanjay Mittal, Selectica's CEO and cofounder. He is a tech genius and passionate historian, with the driest sense of humor.

What is the best thing about working there? In more than 20 years in PR and corporate communications, Selectica is the first place that has given me the trust and freedom to fully express my personal style and personality.

And the worst thing? No time to spend with my family.

What was your luckiest break? Taking up my kids challenge to work in the tech industry. I love it!

If you could do your job from any location (other than where you are now), where would it be? Either Phuket in Thailand or in the Presidential Suite on the "Radiance of the Sea cruise line.

What are you usually thinking about when caught daydreaming at your desk?

Shopping or playing goalie for the Red Wings.

What is one thing about you that none of your coworkers know?

That I collect Band-Aids from all over the world.

Where do you see yourself in five years? If not at Selectica in retirement, I can see three possibilities. First, being part of a national emergency response team. Second, owning a consulting company that specializes in industry analyst relations and building corporate communication teams.

Third, cruising the world, reacquainting myself with my husband.

Sneak us a good piece of office gossip Everyone who works for me either gets pregnant or impregnates their spouse within a year.
