NEW YORK: Time is almost up to enter the PRWeek Awards, but the search has just begun for the industry's Student of the Year.
This prestigious award is designed to attract, encourage, and reward the talented PR pros of the future. The contest is open to undergraduate students matriculating between November 2001 and October 2002.
Working in partnership with Weber Shandwick Worldwide, PRWeek has devised an assignment to test the contestants' abilities on a range of PR skills.
Contestants will be asked to submit proposals to help expand Ray-Ban's communications strategy.
The winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize and a paid internship with Weber Shandwick Worldwide.
Last year's winner, Julie Crabill, interned at the Benjamin Group in May 2001, and is now a full-time employee of WSW in Silicon Valley. Find out more about her in this week's "Where I Work" on page 23.
The student deadline is December 2, 2002. Deadline for other PRWeek Awards entries is Friday, October 18.
