PALO ALTO, CA: Citigate Cunningham has named Paul Bergevin president, replacing Joe Hamilton, who left the agency to start his own consultancy.
Bergevin previously served as managing director of global business development.
He also worked at Certive as VP of corporate marketing, helped launch Edelman Worldwide's global technology practice, and served as PR director at IBM.
Hamilton explained that when Cunningham was sold to Incepta two years ago, "the idea wasn't to sell the company and retire. It was that this would give us the capital to grow."
And while Cunningham has grown, the economic downturn has stymied momentum. "While I'm pleased with what we have been able to do, we faced different opportunities in terms of how fast we will grow and what role we will play, because of the economy," said Hamilton.
His new firm, JF Hamilton Consulting, will focus on business-practice consulting for professional services firms.
