Earlier this month, News Corporation disclosed earnings for its Fox divisions.
Fox Entertainment Group, for the three months to the end of September, showed an increase in revenue and operating income up 22% and 53% respectively.
This was helped by the summer sleeper, There's Something About Mary, which brought in receipts of $170 million. Fox Broadcasting released its earnings for the first time during an investor roadshow, intended to drum up support for their initial public offering. They revealed that the network and the station group earned $36 million in the year to June 30. When the IPO for Fox happened last week, they offered an 18.6% stake in the company and raised $2.8 billion. It was the third-largest IPO ever.
