WASHINGTON DC: Presidential PR is taking its toll at Bob Squier's Washington-based political PR firm.

Squier Knapp Dunn Communications is expected to produce the advertising for the 2000 presidential campaign of Vice President Gore. But Anita Dunn, one of the firm's partners, is taking a full leave of absence to join the presidential exploratory committee of former Senator Bill Bradley.

After the 'conflicts in commitments' between Dunn and Squier 'concludes,' Dunn will return to the firm.

Thirteen-year Squier veteran Tom Ochs has also left the agency - and will not return. He plans to open his own communications company.

Squier is considered a top Democrat PR consultant, having worked for national clients as far back as Hubert Humphrey's 1968 presidential campaign.

The firm's more current clients included the Clinton-Gore 1996 re-election campaign.
