MINNEAPOLIS: Carmichael Lynch Spong is set to buy McGrath Buckley Consulting Group, making it the third largest agency in the Twin Cities.

CLS plans to turn McGrath Buckley into a new division of the agency that will specialize in IR, employee communications, influence management and presentation training. It will be headed by agency founder Douglas Spong, along with senior partners Dennis McGrath and Betsy Buckley.

Spong explained that this was a case of 'hiring great talent.' McGrath, who is 1999 chair of the PRSA's Counselors Academy, was instrumental in building the Minneapolis office of Shandwick Worldwide.

His partner Betsy has 30 years of experience, most recently as vice president of Shandwick in Japan.
