Delta Air Lines, the nation's third largest airline, this month named John Kennedy manager of corporate communications for a region that includes eight southern states and Atlanta, its busiest hub.

A native of England, Kennedy was most recently an assistant PR manager for the Department of Aviation at Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport.

Hartsfield is home to Delta's Atlanta Worldport, which handles 635 departures a day.

In addition to his corporate public relations duties, Kennedy will serve as a communications liaison officer for Delta's Community Affairs, Flight Operations, In-flight Service and Airport Customer Service departments.

Kennedy will report to Clay McConnell, director or corporate communications.

Delta has four corporate PR directors - with three of the four serving the US - all based in the airline's Atlanta headquarters. Kennedy's region includes eight southern states as well as the Atlanta area.
