’Sell & Spin: A History of Advertising’ traces the evolution of the

discipline from a simple means of conveying information to what the

History Channel calls ’an evocative form of communication.’ Among those

whose work is featured: David Ogilvy and marketing directors for

Coca-Cola and Taco Bell. Though the program only gives PR passing

mention, its place in the marketing equation is acknowledged. There’s a

chance, however, that the network’s next business feature will focus on

the Edward Bernayses and Harold Bursons of the world. Stay tuned.
