CAMBRIDGE, MA: The Weber Group has added four Internet clients to

its emerging business practice over the last two months, adding more

than dollars 1 million in annual fee billings.

The new clients are BuyWiz, which offers a ’universal shopping cart’ for

one-click buying and comparison shopping; Intranets.com, which has

developed a free Intranet for small businesses and organizations; Vigil

Technologies, which purports to help clients leverage the Internet as a

source of business intelligence; and PurchasingCenter.com, which is

developing an e-commerce service targeted toward the industrial supplies

market.

’There’s tremendous demand today from start-ups and emerging growth

companies,’ said David Domeshek, SVP and global leader of the business

practice.

’Many have received a good slug of financing and want to build their

brand image very quickly.’

Work for these companies will include corporate brand building, product

publicity and marketing support.

Two of the wins, BuyWiz and Vigil, are Israeli companies that relocated

their headquarters to New York and Waltham, MA, respectively.

’Until a couple of years ago, Israeli companies focused on security and

communication,’ said Weber VP Meira Primes. ’Now, we’re seeing more dot

coms because it’s easier from a development perspective.’

According to BuyWiz president and COO Gidon Fostick, his firm had

instant chemistry with Weber, owing primarily to Primes’ Israeli

background and the firm’s team of business and consumer pros.

’As a start-up company, there’s so much we need to put together from

scratch - we need to develop a brand image, project it and gain

exposure,’ said Fostick. ’In addition to the classical functions of PR,

Weber is helping us to re-think our marketing strategy. We’re even

getting their take on hires we should be making.’
