Iain Burns takes crisis role at Bell Pottinger as Peter Roberts heads out

Bell Pottinger’s Iain Burns has stepped in to head up the agency’s crisis comms team following the departure of Peter Roberts, who is moving to Australia.

Burns, a partner who joined in 2012, has more than 25 years comms experience, including holding positions of VP of corporate comms for Etihad Airways.

Roberts joined Bell Pottinger from Hill+Knowlton Strategies as crisis comms head, also in 2012.

He said: "It's a hugely exciting move for the whole family. It's been on the cards for a while and this year the timing was right for all of us. I wish Bell Pott the very best; it has some extremely talented individuals. As for next steps, I'm having very positive conversations with agencies over there. More updates soon I hope."
