Lines, who is based in Singapore, will transition from his global practice head role to devote attention to APAC, but will retain his client services co-lead role.

The global practice head role will be filled on a rotating basis annually from the pool of H+K global practice leaders, beginning in 2014 with Joe Eyer, who is also the firm’s global public affairs practice co-leader.

Leaders within the region will report to Lines. They are John Morgan, president and CEO of Asia; Ye Yu and Ivy Soonthornsima, co-presidents of China; Paul Plowman, CEO of Australia; Radhika Shapoorjee, president of South Asia; and Sara Gourlay, COO of India.

Jack Martin, global chairman and CEO of Hill+Knowlton Strategies, said: "This structure sets us up for long-term success in a way that makes sense for our regional leaders, talent and clients.

"Viv is perfectly suited for this new position. He has been, and will continue to be, one of my most trusted advisers and has a deep, historical knowledge of H+K that I rely upon often. His particular knowledge of the APAC region, having been its president and COO from 2005 to 2011, gives me even more confidence that with him at the helm, we will see continued growth and excellent client service from our offices in this region."
