Brent aims to be first London council to integrate Twitter with live meeting streaming

Brent Council is claiming it will be the first local authority in London to integrate Twitter with live streaming of key meetings.

It will do so when it streams a meeting online for the first time at a Question Time-style evening on 14 October at Brent Civic Centre, to mark Local Democracy Week 2013. Full council meetings will also be streamed.

People watching the webcasts will be able to tweet @Brent_Council using special hashtags and will see their tweets published by the council alongside the live stream. Councillors at the meetings will also be able to reply to tweets.
