Beech has joined the agency after two years at Lewis PR, where he was a director responsible for crisis, reputation management and global content strategies.
Nexus has appointed him as the first director of its newly developed Crisis Organisation and Reputation proposition (CORE). Beech will report to agency MD Richard Medley, who said he hoped to bring around five clients to CORE, building on crisis handling work the agency has been involved in for a third of clients this year.
Beech said: ‘Hope is not a strategy for crisis handling, and running round trying to make sense of where the crisis team is or second guessing what the current conversation map is showing is not a reassuring model when issues hit.’
Before his time at Lewis he spent 20 years as a journalist, most recently as multimedia managing editor of BBC West Midlands.
His hire follows that of Sophie Griffiths as head of digital in July. Griffiths joined from advertising agency Cheil Worldwide, where she led digital and social strategy for Samsung.
Nexus’ previous digital head, Sean Fleming, departed for another agency job shortly before Griffiths joined, according to Medley.
