Reynolds-Mackenzie’s head of international operations Jennifer Garratt has succeeded Paul Gittins, who founded Red Health with colleague Pat Pearson in 2007.
Gittins was lured away in May to head up Edelman’s health and bioscience practice.
Garratt was practice chair of Burson-Marsteller Healthcare for five years before moving to Reynolds-Mackenzie a year ago.
Red Consultancy deputy CEO Amanda Duncan said Garratt has a strong scientific background, with a first in Pharmacology from Leeds University and a doctorate from Nottingham University, and a wealth of communications experience.
‘In the last 15 years she’s moved from scientific publishing and medical education into communications strategy development and has created, directed and implemented many high profile and award winning campaigns.
‘She can provide the highest calibre client counsel in developing strategies to meet all manner of healthcare market challenges across numerous therapeutic areas.’
The agency has worked for healthcare clients including Astellas, Novo Nordisk, Janssen and Pfizer.
