Liberty will handle global PR duties for the firm, which was spun off from Nokia Siemens’ optical networks business earlier this year. Now owned by Marlin Equity Partners, it provides telecoms infrastructure for companies such as ATOS.
The agency is charged with growing awareness of the new business among influencers in the industry and potential customers, with a focus on key markets in the UK, US and Germany.
In Coriant’s home market of Germany, Liberty will work alongside local shop Maisberger.
Coriant chief marketing officer and senior vice-president Jayne Chace said the PR drive would be crucial to its success as a newly independent company.
‘The increase in data usage and the dynamic nature of bandwidth-hungry applications is creating both challenges and opportunities for our customers as their networks experience an unprecedented level of disruption in carrier networks. This puts Coriant in prime position to really make an impact on the market,’ added Chace.
