News round-up: RNLI, Bellenden and Deliberate PR

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has appointed MSL London as part of an integrated Leo Burnett Change team to develop and pilot the UK's first national drowning awareness and coastal safety campaign.

The initiative has been prompted by evidence of a large awareness gap between the real risk of drowning and the perceived risk. The MSL London team is being led by associate director Simon Condon.

Deliberate PR has been called in by London-based Saqi Books to handle the UK publication of Zealot this month. The book is based on the life of Jesus and was the focus of a recent Fox News interview, which went viral. During the interview US author, Reza Aslan, was questioned as to why, as a Muslim, he had written a book on Christianity.

Bellenden Planning Communications has hired Roy Donson, the former group planning director at Barratt Developments, as a senior associate consultant. Donson is a town planner with 43 years of experience that combines new town development corporations, local government, a trade association and house builders.

Eulogy has been appointed by film charity Raindance to publicise its independent film festival this September, after a three-way pitch. The brief will encompass consumer and trade outreach, celebrating the 21st anniversary of the festival. The agency is also charged with promoting the foundation’s charitable work on an ongoing retained basis.

Good Relations and Harvard PR’s parent company Chime Communications has appointed two non-executive board directors. Vin Murria is the CEO of AIM-listed healthcare and business management software company Advanced Software Group. Martin Glenn is the CEO of United Biscuits and a former marketing director of PepsiCo UK & Ireland.

Shackleton PR has been chosen to deliver social media activity for global online payment provider Ukash, an online payment method that allows users from more than 55 countries to spend their cash online without providing their credit or debit  card details.

The BIG Partnership has relocated its national headquarters in Glasgow to new premises in Fountain House, Charing Cross, after seven years in Park Circus.
