The Home Heat Helpline is run on behalf of seven major energy suppliers by the trade association for the energy industry, Energy UK.

It offers reassurance and advice about the services available for people struggling to pay their energy bills.

Red takes over the account this week following a pitch, in which incumbent Fishburn Hedges competed. Its contract runs until spring next year.

Mark Lyons, the MD of Red’s corporate team, will be responsible for the account, reporting to Energy UK’s director of comms and public affairs Lesley McLeod and press and publicity manager Louis Blake.

The brief includes stakeholder engagement and public affairs duties to ensure MPs are aware of the helpline.

The review did not affect Fishburn Hedges' other work with Energy UK on raising awareness of carbon monoxide poisoning.
