Ager will be responsible for identifying creative talent within the agency, supporting pitches and directing creative coaching as a member of Ketchum’s Creativity School.
He will report to Ketchum London chief executive Denise Kaufmann, who put the hiring in the context of the shifting role of PR agencies.
Kaufmann said: ‘Andrew will be leading on our creative output in London as we look to bolster our creative credentials; part of this is a determined effort to work more closely with individuals from the creative industries – cinematographers, music producers and artists.’
Ager will also work with Ketchum’s New York creative director Marc Levy and Ketchum Pleon’s chief creative officer Petra Sammer.
Before joining Weber Shandwick in 2010, Ager was creative director at sponsorship and sport specialist Pitch PR. He has worked on Olympic-related accounts including EDF, Samsung, Puma and Dow Chemical.
