The agency will work with Olympic running legend Michael Johnson as part of its brief with Perform, which offers a sports treatment and rehabilitation centre at the St George’s Park site.

Perform is part of Spire Healthcare, a private hospital group with 38 hospitals across the UK.

HS&E’s retained brief follows a pitch and will focus on helping position Perform, which runs five other centres across the UK, as a world-class brand.

It will also promote the partnership between Michael Johnson Performance, founded by Olympic gold medallist Johnson, and Perform.

The agency is also responsible for raising awareness of the experts, services and technologies available at the facility and helping drive sales of the key performance packages across elite, corporate and lifestyle sectors.

It has worked on projects with Perform since July 2012.

St George’s Park is the training base for 24 England teams, with more than 800 elite coaches set to be trained and qualified each year at the site.

Perform national director Phil Horton said that the target was to rehabilitate 900 professional footballers over the next three years.

He added: ‘These are exciting times for Perform at St George’s Park, working to provide sports science support to the 24 England football teams and elite sports teams and athletes.’

The £105m National Football Centre was opened last October.
