Mobile operator EE has reorganised its in-house comms team following the move of former UK comms head Stuart Jackson to support the CEO last year.

Mat Sears and Dan Perlet have been promoted to director of PR & corporate comms, and director of corporate & financial affairs respectively.

They will sit alongside existing brand director Spencer McHugh, reporting to Steven Day, chief of brand & comms.

Sears has been at Orange (which merged with T-Mobile to form Everything Everywhere) since 2005, having previously worked at Motorola and Firefly Communications.

Perlet has been with the group since 2011, joining after stints at marketing firm Corbis, Porter Novelli and Burson-Marsteller.

The company said that the duo will be charged with accelerating the take up and awareness of new brand EE, and 4G technology, as well as continuing to protect and promote the existing brands Orange & T-Mobile, across the UK, and to all external influencers, audiences, and stakeholder groups.

The firm said in a statement: ‘The two will work closely with CEO Olaf Swantee, and the wider leadership team to ensure all political, corporate and media audiences are aware of the new brand and strategy, influencing external consumer, corporate, financial and political stakeholders.’

The move follows Jackson leaving his comms post last September to take on more strategic business-focussed role in the group, handling personal comms for Swantee and supporting the day-to-day running of the business.
