The company, which is responsible for promoting the interests of businesses in the West End around Bond Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street, is actively recruiting for a replacement.

Tyrrell said of his departure that he had a desire to move into property after ‘a good stint in retail’.

He will take up the role of executive director at Westminster & City Property Associations after ten years with the New West End Company, including five years as director of communications.

At the New West End Company Tyrrell has worked with high profile stakeholders such as retail bosses Philip Green and Stuart Rose, as well as Number 10 and the Mayor of London. He was also involved in the comms strategy to drive footfall in the area following the 7/7 bombings.
