The agency will run a comms campaign across Huawei's entire device business, and is expected to play a key role in the launch next month of the Ascend P2 handset.

W won the work after a pitch in which incumbent FleishmanHillard, declined to compete after winning a global brief for Samsung.

Huawei marketing director Jill Cooper praised the creativity of W's pitch ideas and added the agency would be contributing to a Huawei drive to become 'a top three smartphone brand by 2015'.
