Its social media-focused apprenticeship scheme, called the Juice Academy, is designed to open up the PR industry to school-leavers and create jobs for young people aged 16 to 18.
Starting in July, it will offer up 20 places per quarter, with each student paid £11,500 by the employer company over 12 months.
The scheme will focus on digital marketing and comms skills across social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
They will qualify with a level 3 certificate in social media and digital from vocational examination body City & Guilds.
Tangerine is attempting to recruit 19 businesses in total and will take one apprentice itself.
Seven businesses have signed up so far, including brewer JW Lees, bookmaker BetFred and retailers Pets at Home and Regatta.
The students will work full-time and attend the academy one day a week for the first six weeks, and one day each fortnight thereafter.
Guest speakers will address the students throughout the course period, starting with Amanda Coleman, head of corporate comms at Greater Manchester Police.
