Former M:Communications tech head Juliet Clarke joins Powerscourt

Juliet Clarke, the former head of technology at M:Communications, is to join Powerscourt's technology, media and telecoms team this month.

She will be followed by Andy Parnis, who will join the TMT team in July from UBS where he was lead analyst in telecoms equity research.

Clarke was previously director of marketing and comms at Torex Retail Holdings, having spent ten years at FTI Consulting’s TMT division. Parnis has also worked at Nomura, Lehman Brothers and Deloitte’s TMT team.

PRWeek broke the news of Clarke’s departure from M: last month. She followed a number of other senior executives out of the firm, including its founders Hugh Morrison and Nick Miles.

Meanwhile, another former M:Communications consultant, Nick Woods, is to join Powerscourt’s financial services team. At M: Woods advised a range of clients in the private equity, venture capital, investment, broking and advisory sectors, as well as establishing M: Communications’ social media offering. He was previously with Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ financial and professional services division.

Additionally, former Guardian media correspondent James Robinson has joined the firm’s special situations practice. He has worked for titles including the Birmingham Post and Sunday Business, and was also the media editor at the Observer.

Finally, Alexandra Rowbottom has joined the special situations practice from Regester Larkin, where she focused on issues and crisis management.

The firm was placed second in mergermarket’s Q1 2013 UK M&A tables for PR advisers by value – having also been second for the year 2012.
