The majority of BlackBerry’s comms has been consolidated with Text100 and APCO Worldwide on a global scale, including in the UK.
A minority of work, estimated to be 20-25% of its total global activity, will remain with other firms.
Frank PR’s existing consumer work is encompassed in this minority. The agency's remit, which also includes celebrity outreach, is understood to be unchanged. Frank handled the launch of BlackBerry’s Q10 handset at Selfridges last week.
Addressing the effect of the review on its UK line-up, BlackBerry vice-president of corporate comms for EMEA and APAC, Meigan Terry, said: ‘We are appointing APCO and Text100 in the UK and a number of markets across EMEA and we believe that their team is a good match for BlackBerry and our culture.
