Sunnucks joins from Tulchan Communications, where he had been a partner for five years. Prior to that he was a partner for sixteen years at fellow City PR heavyweight Brunswick.

He will start his new role, which will also see him sit on the management board of Bell Pottinger Private, later in the year.

Last month Gavin Davis became MD of Pelham Bell Pottinger to allow agency founder James Henderson to concentrate on group-level management of the wider Bell Pottinger Private group.

At the time Henderson said the business was a seeking a ‘senior figure from the industry’ to act as a hands-on chairman and support Davis grow the agency’s offering and client base.

Pelham has grown significantly since it was integrated into Bell Pottinger three years ago, today employing sixty financial and corporate PR specialists and enabling Henderson to become the largest individual shareholder in the newly private BPP.

Sunnucks added: 'I am excited to be joining Bell Pottinger and have been impressed by the quality of people I have met. I am looking forward to working with Gavin, James and the whole of the Bell Pottinger team.’
