The travel brand has called in PR consultant Rachel O’Reilly for three months to work alongside the in-house team led by head of PR Fiona Harris.
O’Reilly will help the travel company raise awareness of its retail outlets, starting with shops in Winchester, Cheltenham, Chichester and Canterbury.
Each shop will be encouraged to manage its own social media output, to engage face-to-face with the local community and to build relationships with local media.
Kuoni’s high street presence has grown dramatically in the past three years, rising from three shops to 22, at a time when other tour operators such as Thomas Cook are scaling down their high street operations.
Kuoni's overall retail strategy includes hosting events in-store, which feature a month-long series of talks by TV presenter and explorer Simon Reeves.
