Supported by City of London Corporation, the Technology Strategy Board and Imperial College London, Digital Shoreditch is looking to position itself as an event at the centre of the UK’s growth as a hub of technology, digital and creative business. It aims to become as significant as the US’s SXSW festival within the next three years.

Ketchum will promote a speaker line-up that includes guests from Google, IBM, the BBC, Mixcloud, Adobe, Ogilvy & Mather and the London School of Economics. The agency was handed the brief without a pitch by Digital Shoreditch, the organisation that runs the festival and other meet-ups, hackathons and events throughout the year.

Ketchum managing director, European technology, David Vindel said: ‘Celebrating outstanding creativity is critical to the UK. The UK’s creative industries are a real success story. They are worth more than £36bn a year and generate £70,000 every minute for the UK economy, as well as employing 1.5 million people.’

Ketchum will work closely with supporters, speakers and other businesses around the east London tech hub, as well as the TCIO (Tech City Investment Organisation), the Government organisation behind the area's promotion, led by former Facebook boss Joanna Shields.

The festival will run from 20-31 May.
