The agency has been called in ahead of the launch of a nationwide initiative to offer students the chance of work experience, internships or mentoring.

The charity works with nearly 800 schools where at least 30 per cent of pupils receive free school meals.

Its new project will involve offering young people internship opportunities in FTSE 100 and other businesses across all sectors.

Communications Management has been appointed for a year-long brief initially, with work likely to focus on stakeholder engagement and handling a range of events, as well as developing surveys on the issue.
